Editor's Note
Gail Perry, CPA, Managing Editor The IRS has acknowledged the confusion that was caused by its recent announcement of a May 17 filing deadline for small tax-exempt organizations to file Form 990. Many organizations, that in years past were not required to file tax returns, put their tax exempt status in jeopardy when this year’s May 17 filing deadline passed and no returns were filed. To ease the pain, the IRS will provide guidance to these organizations in an effort to help them retain their tax-exempt status. Stay tuned. We’ll report more on this topic when the guidance appears.

Best wishes,
Gail Perry, CPA
