  While most accountants are celebrating the end of another busy season, 26 tax preparers from New York and New Jersey who got caught in a sting operation that will likely land them all in jail are probably rethinking their tax preparation tactics. Just for the record, claiming fake dependents, stealing the identities of people on public assistance, using Social Security numbers of the dead – these are not the best methods available for helping your clients lower their tax rates.
