Editor's Note
We continue the QuickBooks Journey this month with detailed
information on working with bank accounts in QuickBooks and also
in-depth information on integrating QuickBooks with Lacerte
Trial Balance. This Journey is designed to help beginning
QuickBooks users learn the basic features of the program and to
provide advanced users with more depth of knowledge in
QuickBooks. Working directly with Intuit, we plan to continue
taking this journey through many aspects of the QuickBooks
program. As we progress, we encourage our readers to submit
requests for specific areas and topics that you would like to
see covered in our Journey.
Best wishes,
Gail Perry, CPA

Did you reconcile?
Love it or hate it, most small business owners are using
QuickBooks to track their company's finances. I've found that
many people, while using QuickBooks to enter transactions, fail
to follow through to ensure they are getting everything entered.
If you get to the end of the year with a bunch of missing
transactions, it is going to be that much harder to track down
the reason why your checking balance and your QuickBooks balance
are worlds apart.

primary focus is on growing revenue and controlling company

inefficient processes in your company, such as a CRM system to
manage revenue and an accounting or ERP solution as your back-
end financial system of record. However, chances are you still
use manual, paper-based processes to deal with company expenses.
