  When we are little, we sit in our desks at school, trying to absorb what the teachers want us to learn, taking what we get, for the most part, without questioning the expertise of our presenters. As we mature, we discover that teachers are just people doing their jobs, and some are more knowledgeable than others. Some have the information we need and want, others take our time but don’t necessarily leave us with information that we find useful. An advantage of being an adult learner is being able to select the training we want, honing our skills with the help of teachers, writers, and mentors who have proven their worth.
