Editor's Note
Bill Grabarek, Assistant Managing Editor All of the attention accounting fraud has received from the mainstream media in recent years has created a groundswell of interest in forensic accounting. Last year alone, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, which trains accountants in fraud investigation, added 10,000 new members. As forensic accounting gains a higher profile, companies and organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) are working to expand the profession’s role in the discipline by teaching CPA firms and educators about the skills needed. Studies indicate that when the economy is languishing, the instances of fraud increase. Needless to say, business is good for forensic accountants.

Sincerely,
Bill Grabarek
Assistant Managing Editor
