Today's quick exercise works on strengthening arms and will only take a minute. As I've mentioned before, this daily fitness series is designed to give you a tiny break in what can be a grueling time of year, a time when most accountants don't remember to take care of themselves. At the bottom of each exercise there is a link to the entire library, so you can always go back and repeat earlier exercises.

Windshield wipers arm stretch
Today's exercise strengthens your arms and also can be used as part of a warm-up routine for other exercises. You can do this exercise while sitting upright in your desk chair. When you're finished, do a relaxing movement to prevent your arms from feeling sore.

  1. With both arms extended to the side, bend at the elbows, allowing your forearms, wrists, and hands to drop straight down.
  2. Return arms to a straight position, just like the windshield wipers on your car.
  3. Repeat 16 times.
