Publisher's Note
Are announcements of job cuts, massive government spending
plans, store closures and the like making you "see red?" If
so, you're definitely not alone. The good people at Daszkal
Bolton LLP, a certified public accounting firm in Florida, have
been seeing red in a different way these days. Read more about
it here.
What is your firm or company doing along these lines? If you
haven't planned anything yet for 2009 to assist a not-for-
profit organization, there's no time like the present. It's a
great morale booster, too!

Questions & Advice
Parking tickets on business time
I know that parking tickets are not a deduction that can be
taken on a tax return. However, my client received a ticket
while at a business meeting. He wanted to know if the company
can pay this for him. We do not have a policy in place that says
we can or can not. If we pay this through the company how would
I book that item?

Any one here work for IRS?
I am just wondering if anyone here works for IRS. Could you
please give me some advice whether or not working for IRS is a
good idea. I am majoring in Accounting, and this is my senior
