If a Big Four firm makes a bad hiring decision, it's barely noticed because of the sheer mass of employees. They could even hire someone dumb enough to wear a suit of armor to a massage appointment and it wouldn't cause a ripple. However, if your firm of seven people brings in a new employee who doesn't fit, well, you know how damaging that can be, potentially bringing with it a long recovery period.
